Users may access them for the duration of their subscription as part of a subscription-based service that delivers these texts for free. According to the Evening Standard, Perlego is 'the Spotify for textbooks.' Perlego is headquartered in London and accessible worldwide.
Perlego History
Perlego was created in 2016 by Gauthier Van Malderen and Matthew Davis, both Belgian natives, to respond to the rising inflation of textbook prices. To help publishers recover market share lost to piracy, they sought to provide an inexpensive alternative to the high cost of university textbooks.
Van Malderen, with a background in business and economics, had already established two companies before Perlego, and Davis had gained extensive experience in software technology and website creation.
How Does Perlego Work?
With over 3,000 publishing firms on board, Perlego provides users unlimited access to digital copies of their nonfiction books for a subscription fee. Bloomsbury, Pearson, and Wiley, among other big academic publishers, are among the firms that provide content.
In addition to being accessible on desktop and mobile devices, books may also be downloaded for offline reading. The study tools we will discuss in the next section are also provided by Perlego.

Is Perlego Worth It?
Considering that the average cost of university textbooks is $1,240 per year, I believe a Perlego subscription is well worth the expense since an annual plan is about 11% of what you would otherwise pay. Regarding their selection, I checked out some of my old college syllabuses and looked for some of my textbooks.
Although only one out of six that I tried, International Relations was a pretty unique course, and it was several years ago. There are over 700,000 textbooks available, covering a wide range of topics and subtopics.

Overall, I think Perlego is an incredible resource I wish I had in college. I recommend a Perlego free trial to current students, as Perlego is a fantastic resource. So I think it is great.
